We are excited that our first Round Square Africa Regional Conference is now only days away (17th to 21st February 2018) in Arusha, Tanzania. The theme of the conference is Utamaduni or “Culture” and we will explore issues around our rich African heritage and what it means as we rush headlong into the future. One hundred students from 16 Round Square schools around Africa will take part in this extraordinary experience.

We are also thrilled to share this exciting experience with our guest of honor Hon. Juliana Shonza, deputy minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports. Her discernment on Tanzanian culture is certain to be inspiring. Hon. Shonza will be attending the opening ceremony on Saturday 17th February.

The Hon Juliana Shonza also has an academic background where she holds a Bachelor (2011) and Masters Degree (2015) in Sociology which she attained from the Universities of Dar es Salaam and Dodoma.

Additionally, public figures from Tanzania have been invited to deliver keynote speeches on various aspects of African Culture:

Edward Loure: Winner of the Goldman Environmental

Prof: Eliamani Laltaika: An Advocate of the high court of Tanzania, an outstanding Scholar and a motivational speaker.

Ndinini Kimasero Sikar: Director of the Maasai Women’s Development Organization (MWEDO)

Expressing his excitement towards this outstanding conference, the Headmaster Mr. Tony Macfadyen commented:

“We are so excited about this wonderful opportunity to host the African Regional Conference; we can’t wait to host 115 delegates from around the continent.
