News from SCIS:
27th October 2017
On Tuesday, 24th October, Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunal (MICT) marked United Nations (UN) day at its Arusha branch in Lakilaki hills. St. Constantine’s students were lucky enough to be invited along to witness this great occasion. Students first had an opportunity to tour the premises of the Mechanism, including the library, where they received an overview of the educational services available in this wonderful new facility.
This was then followed by a message from the UN Secretary General, Mr Antonio Guterres, as well as speeches by senior MICT staff. Students also received an introduction to the mechanism’s recently released online exhibition on children in conflict, based on testimonies and evidence related to conflicts in Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia.
To say the least, this was a substantial opportunity for our students to be involved in; they gained vast understanding of the Mechanism’s work as well as the United Nations mission, particularly with regard to future generations.
