News from SCIS:

First Outing for Primary Footballers

Primary Football team

SCIS put on a super show in the first Primary Football tournament of the new season at ISMAC. Placing 3rd in the U9 Boys’ group, 2nd in both the U9 Girls’ and the U11 Boys’ groups, as well as 1st in the U11 Girls’ group showed the strength and depth of our football squads. Thanks to the coaches, Mr Nahdi, Mr Claud, Mrs Mary and Mrs Adiang for being there on Saturday morning and thanks to our students for making the football such a pleasure to watch!

One particular highlight of the day was our squad being named as the team which showed the best sportsmanship. This is especially important to us as we always strive to be the best in this area, whether we win, lose or draw. It is an accolade we have collected many times before, in both Primary and Secondary events, and it remains one which we value extremely highly.

Another highlight was Ruth Naserian in Year 5 being named as player of the tournament. It was a much deserved award, with her having played a huge part in the U11 Girls’ march to 1st place in their group.
