During our school-wide Activity Week, the Reception classes each hiked through the Danish Forest in Usa River. The students enjoyed a trail with physical challenges perfect for 4 to 6 year olds. They crept down and climbed up gentle slopes, pushed through some leafy brush, and climbed over some logs as they made their way through the forest. They picked their way through a muddy spot and crossed a stream by stepping on a trail of rocks. The sun sparkled through the beautiful green tree tops, and we could hear the sounds of birds calling, insects buzzing and water flowing in the streams. Sometimes we were able to find monkeys swinging through the branches and peering down at us! The students had lots of fun on our forest adventure!
